Residents of Tor Chappar and surrounding localities in Dara Adamkhel have begun relocating to safer areas amid an ongoing security operation and heightened security concerns in the region, prompting authorities to activate emergency relief and coordination mechanisms for affected families.
According to official sources, the security operation was launched following reports of militant activity and attacks targeting security forces in the area. Security officials stated that several militants have been neutralized during the ongoing operation, which aims to eliminate threats and restore peace in the affected localities.
As security forces continue their operations and sporadic exchanges of fire are reported from certain areas, residents of Tor Chappar and nearby villages have started moving their families to safer locations as a precautionary measure. The displacement has raised immediate concerns regarding shelter, food supplies, medical assistance, and other essential services for affected households.
In response to the emerging humanitarian needs, a dedicated 24-hour control room has been established under the supervision of the Commissioner of Kohat Division and the Deputy Commissioner Kohat to facilitate relief efforts and ensure timely support for displaced residents.
The initiative is intended to provide a centralized platform for addressing public concerns and coordinating assistance for families affected by the ongoing security situation.
Following reports of displacement from Tor Chappar, Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shahryar Afridi took immediate steps to support the affected population by initiating relief and coordination measures. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, he coordinated with relevant government authorities to establish a dedicated mechanism aimed at ensuring prompt assistance to displaced families.
After consultations with Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam, Shahryar Afridi formally requested Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Moatasim Billah Shah and Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir to oversee the establishment and functioning of the control room and relief coordination framework.
According to the district administration, the facility has been designed to address a wide range of public needs arising from the displacement. Individuals facing challenges related to temporary accommodation, healthcare services, food assistance, transportation, or other essential requirements have been advised to contact the control room for immediate support.
The administration has provided a dedicated helpline, 0922-920032, which will remain operational round the clock to receive complaints, requests for assistance, and emergency information from affected residents.
To ensure swift response and effective coordination at the local level, the Assistant Commissioner of Dara Adamkhel has been designated as the focal person responsible for monitoring the situation, facilitating relief efforts, and resolving complaints submitted by displaced families.
Officials stated that all relevant departments have been directed to remain vigilant and fully prepared to extend necessary support to residents affected by the ongoing security operation.
The district administration has urged residents to remain calm, cooperate with relevant authorities, and follow official advisories issued through government channels. Citizens have also been advised to avoid spreading unverified information and to rely exclusively on updates provided by the district administration and security agencies regarding the ongoing operation and displacement situation.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of civilians, maintaining public order, and facilitating the return of displaced families once the security situation stabilizes and the operation reaches its objectives.
