Four Peace Committee Members Killed in Khawarij Ambush in D.I Khan

Four members of a local peace committee were killed in a targeted ambush by Khawarij in the village of Attal Sharif, located in Tehsil Kulachi of Dera Ismail Khan, police confirmed.

According to police officials, the Khawarij carried out a pre-planned attack, opening fire on the peace committee members who were targeted in an ambush-style assault. The victims were caught off guard as the assailants struck suddenly before fleeing the scene.

The deceased have been identified as Shahzaib, Danish, Sooli, and one unidentified individual. Police further confirmed that the Khawarij also looted weapons from the victims and abducted one member during the incident.

Following the attack, the Khawarij escaped from the area, taking advantage of the terrain. Security forces have launched a full-scale search operation and established multiple checkpoints to trace and apprehend those responsible.

Police and security agencies have cordoned off the area, while investigations are underway to determine the network and motives behind the attack. Initial findings suggest the incident was a targeted act of terrorism aimed at peace committee members actively supporting local law enforcement.

Authorities have reiterated their resolve to eliminate Khawarij elements and ensure that those involved in the attack are brought to justice. Reinforcements have been deployed, and the search operation is ongoing.
