A joint intelligence-based operation has been ongoing since today morning in the Warra Mamond area of Bajaur District, targeting suspected TTP Khawarij elements, according to local intelligence sources.
Preliminary reports indicate that at least four TTP Khawarij have been neutralized during the course of the operation. Security officials confirmed that exchanges of fire are still ongoing in certain pockets of the area as clearance and search operations continue.
The operation was initiated on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of Khawarij hideouts in the region. Security forces have cordoned off the area and are conducting systematic clearance operations aimed at eliminating remaining threats while ensuring civilian safety.
Authorities have advised local residents to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary movement in the affected areas. Residents have also been urged not to provide shelter or assistance to fleeing Khawarij elements, in order to prevent potential hostage situations and reduce the risk of collateral damage.
Security officials stated that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle Khawarij networks operating in the region and restore lasting peace and stability in Bajaur and surrounding areas.
