Pakistan’s Diplomatic Efforts Focus on Regional Peace, Strategic Partnerships, and Protection of National Interests: MOFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that Pakistan is actively contributing to efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East, while also reaffirming its strategic partnerships and expressing concerns over regional security developments.

During the weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said that Pakistan continues to play a constructive diplomatic role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East. He noted that the Interior Minister recently undertook two official visits to Iran, during which high-level meetings were held with Iranian leadership. The discussions focused on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran, as well as detailed consultations on security-related matters.

The spokesperson further highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding and strong relationship with China, stating that Beijing has consistently supported Pakistan during challenging times. He emphasized that Pakistan and China enjoy an “excellent and time-tested friendship,” underpinned by extensive cooperation in trade, industry, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

Marking 75 years of diplomatic relations, Andrabi reiterated the commitment to the enduring Pakistan-China partnership, describing it as a “bond of iron-clad friendship and mutual cooperation.” He added that bilateral ties have continued to strengthen over time, with China maintaining unwavering support for Pakistan across multiple sectors.

He further informed that the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister to China will reinforce and further deepen the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to chair a Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Conference in Beijing and attend a reception ceremony during the visit.

According to the Foreign Office, the Prime Minister will hold high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, focusing on expanding cooperation in agriculture, trade, information technology, science, and people-to-people connectivity.

On regional security issues, the Foreign Office spokesperson stated that India continues to engage in activities that contribute to instability in the region. He accused India of attempting to suppress voices advocating for human rights in Indian-administered Kashmir, adding that the international community is witness to ongoing human rights violations in the region. He strongly condemned alleged atrocities against Kashmiri leadership and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the people of Kashmir.

The Ministry also reiterated its tribute to the Kashmiri martyrs of May 21, stating that Pakistan honors their sacrifice.

Referring to recent developments in the Gulf region, Andrabi noted that drone-related incidents were reported in the airspace of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on May 17. He emphasized that targeting nuclear installations constitutes a serious violation of international law. Pakistan expressed deep concern over these incidents and strongly condemned them, while expressing hope that such alarming events would not be repeated in the future.

The Foreign Office concluded by reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful diplomacy, regional stability, and constructive engagement with all international partners.
