Security forces have eliminated 23 more terrorists linked to the Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij during a series of expanded intelligence-based operations across multiple areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, delivering what officials described as a significant blow to terrorist networks operating in the province.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted over the last 48 hours in terrorism-affected regions including Datta Khel, Spinwam, and Bannu as part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the national “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework.

The military’s media wing stated that security forces engaged multiple terrorist hideouts during intense exchanges of fire, resulting in the elimination of 23 terrorists, including highly wanted ring leader Jan Meer alias Toor Saqib.

Officials said Jan Meer alias Toor Saqib was actively involved in numerous terrorist attacks targeting security personnel and civilians, and had been declared a high-value target with head money fixed by the government due to his operational role in militant activities.

Security forces also recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and prepared improvised explosive devices from the killed terrorists. During subsequent sensitisation efforts, troops uncovered and destroyed an extensive network of underground tunnels and bunkers allegedly used by terrorist elements for movement, concealment, and operational planning.

The ISPR stated that clearance and sensitisation operations remain ongoing to eliminate remaining terrorists hiding in the affected areas.

Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies, according to the statement, will continue intelligence-led operations at full pace under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan framework, with the objective of eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
