A dignified military awards ceremony was held at Corps Headquarters Peshawar where families of martyrs and serving officers were honoured in recognition of extraordinary bravery, sacrifice, and distinguished service during counterterrorism operations and national defence duties.
The ceremony paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered by personnel of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies who laid down their lives while fighting terrorism and defending Pakistan’s security front lines, particularly across conflict-affected regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal belt.
A total of 123 military honours were awarded during the ceremony. Families of 98 martyrs received the Tamgha-e-Basalat in recognition of the supreme sacrifices made by their loved ones in the line of duty.
In addition, six officers were awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), while 19 officers received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) for their professional excellence, courage, and contributions to ongoing security and counterterrorism efforts.
The ceremony reflected the state’s continued acknowledgement of the sacrifices made by security personnel confronting terrorist threats across the country. Participants described the martyrs as symbols of national resilience whose sacrifices continue to strengthen Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism and extremism.
During the event, tribute was also paid to wounded personnel and operational units engaged in difficult counterterrorism environments, with emphasis placed on the armed forces’ continued commitment to ensuring peace, stability, and protection of civilians.
The gathering reaffirmed that the sacrifices of martyrs remain central to Pakistan’s national security struggle, as security forces continue operations against terrorist networks seeking to destabilise the country.
