A large-scale, high-intensity security operation is currently underway in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, where security forces are engaged in active clashes with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Khawarij, according to security sources.
During intense exchanges of fire, the TTP Khawarij reportedly targeted and severely damaged the Abu Hanifa School, resulting in the complete destruction of the educational facility.
Preliminary reports indicate that the school building suffered extensive structural damage amid ongoing hostilities. The destruction of Abu Hanifa School has been described by officials as a deliberate attempt by the Khawarij to undermine civilian infrastructure and disrupt educational activities in the region.
Authorities emphasized that the targeting of educational institutions reflects a blatant disregard for civilian life and essential public services.
The operation in Spinwam is part of a broader, intelligence-based counterterrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Khawarij hideouts and restoring stability in North Waziristan. Security forces continue to engage hostile elements in a coordinated effort to neutralize threats operating in the area. Officials confirmed that the situation remains fluid, with clearance and consolidation operations ongoing in multiple pockets of the region.
Security officials reiterated that every possible measure is being taken to minimize collateral damage and ensure the protection of civilian lives and infrastructure during the operation. They further stated that Khawarij elements continue to exploit populated areas and public infrastructure to shield their activities.
The ongoing operation underscores Pakistan’s sustained commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring long-term peace in the tribal districts. Authorities reaffirmed that all necessary resources are being utilized to dismantle Khawarij networks and prevent future attacks on civilian and state institutions.
