Pakistan’s military has issued a strong response to recent remarks made by Indian Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi, describing the comments as dangerous rhetoric that threatens peace and stability in South Asia.
In a sharply worded statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said the remarks reflected a “warmongering mindset” and urged New Delhi to abandon hostility in favor of peaceful coexistence and diplomatic engagement.
The ISPR warned that irresponsible statements exchanged between two nuclear-armed neighbors could deepen tensions and trigger consequences extending far beyond the region.
Rejecting suggestions questioning Pakistan’s existence or strategic relevance, the military’s media wing stressed that Pakistan remains an influential regional state with recognized nuclear capability and longstanding geopolitical importance in South Asia.
According to the statement, such remarks exposed India’s continued inability to accept Pakistan’s presence despite more than seven decades of history since independence.
The ISPR further stated that aggressive narratives, coupled with ideas of national supremacy, had repeatedly pushed the region toward instability, military escalation, and unnecessary confrontation.
“Threatening to erase a sovereign nuclear state from the map is not strategic communication, it is reckless behavior,” the statement said, adding that responsible nations should demonstrate restraint, maturity, and wisdom rather than relying on provocative rhetoric for political or military messaging.
The military also cautioned that any future conflict between Pakistan and India would carry devastating consequences difficult to contain geographically, politically, or strategically.
ISPR Warns Against Another Regional Crisis
The statement urged the Indian leadership to avoid creating another crisis in South Asia and instead pursue diplomacy and peaceful relations.
While reaffirming Pakistan’s desire for regional stability, the ISPR stressed that the country remained fully capable of defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression.
It further warned that any attempt to target Pakistan militarily could produce consequences that would become increasingly difficult for India to manage.
The military also accused India of contributing to regional instability through disinformation campaigns and alleged support for activities aimed at undermining peace across the region.
Referring to last year’s military confrontation, described by Pakistan as “Marka-i-Haq,” the ISPR said India’s recent aggressive posture appeared to reflect frustration over its failure to weaken Pakistan strategically.
The statement concluded by urging Indian authorities to adopt a realistic approach rooted in coexistence, mutual respect, and recognition of regional realities instead of confrontation-driven policies.
