Security Operation in Barkhan Neutralizes Senior BLF Commander

An intelligence-based security operation conducted in the Bughao area of Barkhan district has resulted in the killing of a senior commander affiliated with the banned militant organization, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), according to official sources.

The deceased commander has been identified as Salal Bugti, also known by the alias “Nura Baloch,” who was reportedly a key figure within the BLF’s operational network in the region. Sources indicate that the operation was launched late last night following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militant elements in the area.

Security forces engaged in an exchange of fire with armed militants during the operation. As a result of the encounter, the BLF commander was “neutralized,” officials confirmed. No immediate details have been released regarding potential casualties among security personnel or other individuals.

Authorities described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to counter militant activity and improve security conditions in Balochistan, a province that has experienced intermittent unrest linked to separatist groups.
