Three people were injured when terrorists carried out a quadcopter attack on a cricket ground in the Shah Tangi area of Mamund tehsil in Bajaur district, where local residents were engaged in a game at the time of the incident.

According to local sources, the explosive-laden quadcopter targeted the ground during active play, causing panic among players and spectators. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital where they are receiving medical treatment.

Hospital and rescue sources confirmed that all three injured individuals were provided emergency care, while their condition is stated to be stable.

Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down those responsible. Security measures in the surrounding region were also heightened amid concerns of further possible incidents.

Public Outrage and Tribal Backlash

The incident triggered strong reactions from local residents, who expressed anger over what they described as repeated targeting of civilian life and recreational spaces.

Tribal elders and community representatives condemned the attack in strong terms, calling it a direct assault on peaceful civilian existence. Residents in the area voiced frustration over the expanding use of quadcopter-based attacks, saying even children, sports grounds, and ordinary gatherings are no longer safe.

Locals demanded immediate and decisive action from the government and law enforcement agencies, urging them to eliminate terrorist elements operating in the region and restore security to civilian areas.

Several community voices stressed that repeated incidents have crossed the threshold of tolerance, warning that continued inaction would further deepen public anger and insecurity.

Growing Pattern of Civilian Targeting

Security-linked accounts note that terrorist groups operating in the region have increasingly used quadcopter-based improvised attacks to target civilian populations, including areas of daily social activity such as homes, roadsides, and now recreational grounds.

The latest incident adds to a broader pattern of such attacks reported across Bajaur and other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where civilians have repeatedly been injured in drone-style strikes attributed to terrorist networks.

Authorities have reiterated that search and intelligence-based operations are ongoing in the area to prevent further incidents and dismantle operational networks responsible for such attacks.
