At least six more bodies of terrorists have been recovered from a border area in Bajaur, according to security sources, months after they were killed during a cross-border operation amid heavy snowfall in January.
Sources said the deceased terrorists were part of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) network structure, which has since been dismantled. Several bodies had already been recovered earlier from the same incident, while the latest recoveries became possible after snow began to melt in the region.
According to officials, the terrorists were Afghan nationals who had been operating in the border belt at the time of the incident. Search efforts are still underway in the area amid the possibility of more bodies being located.
The recovered bodies have been handed over to relevant authorities after completion of necessary legal procedures, for onward transfer to their families.
