Pakistan’s balanced diplomatic role in facilitating a temporary ceasefire and bringing the United States and Iran back to the negotiation table has received widespread appreciation from global leadership as well as strong public backing at home, according to a recent survey.
A latest poll conducted by Gallup Pakistan shows overwhelming support among citizens for Pakistan’s mediation efforts in easing tensions between the two rival states.
According to the survey, 93 percent of respondents supported Pakistan’s efforts toward achieving a ceasefire, while 80 percent expressed optimism that such initiatives could lead to lasting peace.
The findings, based on interviews conducted on April 8 and 9, indicate that 82 percent of the public was aware of Pakistan’s role in facilitating ceasefire diplomacy, while 46 percent reported hearing about a potential major diplomatic breakthrough or “deal.”
The survey further revealed that 72 percent of those polled strongly support Pakistan’s mediation efforts, with only a small minority expressing hesitation or opposition to such involvement.
On the broader question of peace prospects, 80 percent of respondents believe the ceasefire efforts could steer the situation toward stability, including 44 percent who expressed strong optimism.
The data highlights a significant level of public confidence in Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement at a time when regional tensions remain sensitive and closely watched.
