Pakistan’s security forces have successfully foiled a major terrorist plot following credible and verified intelligence reports, preventing what could have been a significant attack in Quetta.
According to security sources, the suspected suicide bomber identified as an Afghan national, Muhammad alias Nusrat had traveled from South Waziristan toward Zhob with the intention of carrying out a suicide attack in Quetta. Acting on timely intelligence, a coordinated operation was launched to intercept the threat before it could materialize.
The operation was conducted jointly by the Frontier Corps, intelligence agencies, and other law enforcement bodies as part of an intelligence-based operation (IBO). During the targeted raid in the Killi Landi Kachlak area of Quetta district, the suspect was apprehended along with his accomplices. All individuals taken into custody have been shifted to a secure location for further investigation.
Officials stated that the success of the operation reflects the high level of vigilance, coordination, and professionalism demonstrated by Pakistan’s security institutions. The swift and precise response not only neutralized an imminent threat but also ensured the safety of civilians in the region.
Authorities emphasized that such proactive measures remain critical in countering terrorism and safeguarding public security. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader network behind the planned attack and to bring all facilitators to justice.
This operation underscores Pakistan’s continued commitment to combating terrorism through intelligence-led actions and inter-agency cooperation, ensuring that potential threats are identified and eliminated before they can cause harm.
