Major Terror Plot Foiled in Balochistan as Forces Neutralize Massive Explosive Device

Major Terror Plot

A major terror plot was successfully foiled in Surab, where security forces recovered and safely defused a massive improvised explosive device (IED), averting what could have been a catastrophic attack.

According to security sources, the explosive device weighed approximately 320 kilograms and was discovered during a timely operation in the area. Experts revealed that the IED had been assembled using eight drums, each packed with nearly 40 kilograms of explosive material, making it one of the most dangerous devices recovered in recent months.

Security officials warned that the sheer quantity of explosives had the capacity to cause widespread devastation, potentially destroying not only military convoys but also heavily armored vehicles and critical infrastructure.

Investigations indicate that terrorists had planned to plant the IED beneath a key bridge along the N-25 Highway, with the intent to bring down the structure through a powerful blast. Such an attack could have severed the vital الرابط between Karachi and Quetta, disrupting transportation and trade for weeks.

Preliminary findings suggest that the attack was orchestrated by terrorists linked to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), specifically its so-called “Majeed Brigade” faction. A key suspect identified as Dil Jan is believed to have played a central role in planning the operation.

Security forces’ swift and coordinated response not only saved countless lives but also protected one of the country’s most critical economic corridors from large-scale destruction. Officials emphasized that intelligence-based operations will continue across sensitive regions to preempt and eliminate such threats, reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism.
