Public Turns Against Afghan Taliban Propaganda, Signals Strong Backing for Pakistan Army

Citizens across Pakistan have strongly rejected what they described as “misleading and baseless propaganda” attributed to the Afghan Taliban regime against the Pakistan Army, expressing firm support for decisive measures to counter cross-border terrorism and safeguard national security.

In reactions gathered from various segments of society, citizens maintained that Pakistan’s demand for the dismantling of terrorist sanctuaries in Afghanistan or the handover of militants involved in cross-border attacks is legitimate and justified. They stated that militant elements, allegedly operating under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban, have been responsible for attacks inside Pakistan, including assaults on places of worship resulting in civilian casualties.

Residents emphasized that any action taken by Pakistan against suspected militant infrastructure, including reported strikes on weapons depots, falls within its right to self-defence. They asserted that such facilities have been used to store arms later employed in acts of terrorism within Pakistani territory, and their neutralization is essential for national security.

Citizens further conveyed that the responsibility lies with the Afghan authorities to ensure that their soil is not used against Pakistan. They called on the Afghan Taliban to either deny safe havens to militant groups or facilitate their handover to Pakistani authorities. Failure to do so, they warned, would necessitate a robust response from Pakistan’s security forces.

Highlighting broader regional implications, members of the public noted that the continuation of militancy and terrorism does not serve the interests of any country and urged the Afghan Taliban to adopt practical measures for peace by addressing Pakistan’s security concerns.

Some citizens also underscored Pakistan’s strategic strength, stating that the country possesses the capability and resolve to defend itself against all forms of aggression and should not be perceived as vulnerable in the face of external or internal threats.

The statements reflect a growing domestic consensus in support of counterterrorism efforts and reinforce public backing for measures aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and the protection of civilian lives.
