Pakistan’s security forces have launched Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, delivering what officials described as a “full force response” to unprovoked aggression by Afghan Taliban across multiple sectors of the Pak-Afghan border.
Security sources said hostilities were reported in Bajaur’s Nawapass 123 and Nawagai sectors, Mohmand’s Tor Khel and Gorsal areas, Khyber’s Landi Kotal, Bazaar Zakha Khel and Tirah regions, Kurram’s Shorko and Kharlachi sectors, and the Arando sector in Chitral.
According to officials, Pakistani forces responded with coordinated ground operations and artillery fire targeting Afghan Taliban positions and logistics infrastructure. At least 22 Taliban fighters have been eliminated so far, while multiple Afghan posts and military equipment were destroyed during the retaliatory action, forcing hostile elements to retreat.
Artillery fire also struck what sources described as a Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan headquarters along with several fortified positions.
Security sources reported heavy casualties, material losses and tactical setbacks on the Afghan side in engagements spanning Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur and Kurram.
The Ministry of Information stated that Pakistan will take all necessary measures to safeguard its territorial integrity and protect its citizens, adding that no entity will be allowed to disrupt peace along the western frontier.
Officials emphasized that the response mirrors the resolve previously demonstrated on the eastern border and reflects a calibrated but firm deterrent posture.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said the government has reached a decisive point in addressing cross-border instability, stating that Pakistan is prepared to go to the necessary extent to eliminate insecurity and resolve the matter conclusively.
Security authorities reiterated that Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq remains active, with forces maintaining full operational readiness across sensitive districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
