Khwarij Behead Another Civilian in Bannu Over ‘Spying’ Allegations

Terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij (the banned TTP) have brutally killed another innocent civilian in the district of Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, accusing him of espionage.

According to local sources, the victim was slaughtered by Khwarij in what residents described as an act of extreme barbarity. The killing has once again raised serious concerns about the group’s continued campaign of targeting unarmed civilians under the pretext of spying allegations.

Pattern of Violence in Jani Khel

This is not the first such incident in the area. Just days earlier, Khwarij militants beheaded another innocent citizen, Ashraf, in the Hindi Khel area of Jani Khel and dumped his body on the roadside.

Last year, Ashraf’s brother, Usman, was also killed in a similar manner after being accused by the same group.

In another incident some time ago, militants abducted a local resident, Fakhruddin, from Hindi Khel. He was tortured and his arm was broken before being released, further deepening fear among residents.

These repeated incidents indicate a clear pattern in which the Khwarij target civilians through intimidation, abduction, and public executions to assert control and silence dissent within local communities.

Political Silence Draws Criticism

Despite the gruesome nature of these killings, there has been no visible condemnation from leaders of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement or the National Democratic Movement. Critics argue that while these groups frequently raise their voices against security forces, they have remained silent over the killing of civilians by Khwarij militants.

Local observers say the continued silence over such incidents raises questions at a time when communities are facing direct threats from militant violence.

Call for Public Support Against Militants

Security officials have reiterated that Fitna al Khwarij has no connection with Islamic teachings and is actively targeting innocent civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Authorities have urged residents of Jani Khel and surrounding areas to recognize the threat posed by the militants and cooperate fully with security institutions to eliminate their networks.

With multiple killings and acts of torture reported from the same region, the latest incident underscores the urgent need for collective action against militant elements operating in Bannu.
