Suicide Blast in Bannu Operation: Lt. Col. Sahibzada Gul Faraz Martyred, Five Terrorists Neutralized

The Pakistan Army conducted a decisive counterterrorism operation in the Sra Darga area of Bannu following credible intelligence regarding the presence of extremist elements linked to Khawarij factions. During the operation, a suicide attacker rammed an explosive-laden motorcycle rickshaw into the lead military vehicle.

The vehicle was carrying commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Sahibzada Gul Faraz, who was martyred in the attack. Officials confirm that the explosion also resulted in the deaths of at least five militants at the site.

Following the blast, a large contingent of security forces rapidly secured the area. The location has been cordoned off and a comprehensive search operation is underway to neutralize any remaining extremist elements and prevent further threats.

The Pakistan Army reaffirmed that extremist groups, including Khawarij-linked militants, continue to exploit border regions and vulnerable areas to plan attacks against security personnel and civilians. This operation demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the armed forces to dismantle terrorist networks and safeguard national security.
