The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt, paid an official visit to Malaysia to strengthen bilateral naval ties and enhance cooperation on regional maritime security, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

During the visit, Admiral Naveed Ashraf called on the leadership of the Royal Malaysian Navy and was received at the Royal Malaysian Navy Headquarters by Admiral Tan Sri (Dr.) Zulhelmy bin Ithnain, Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy, where he was accorded a Guard of Honour.

ISPR said discussions between the two naval chiefs focused on aligning strategic perspectives and expanding cooperation in operational coordination, capacity building, and coordinated responses to evolving maritime security challenges.

The Chief of the Naval Staff highlighted Pakistan Navy’s contributions to regional stability through Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP) and its continued participation in the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).

As part of the visit, Admiral Naveed Ashraf also visited Malaysia’s National Hydrographic Centre, where he emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Malaysia’s hydrographic institutions and Pakistan’s National Hydrographic Office in areas such as professional training, data exchange, and technical collaboration.

According to ISPR, the visit reaffirmed the enduring Pakistan–Malaysia naval partnership and underscored both sides’ commitment to future-oriented maritime cooperation in support of regional peace and security.
