Laki Marwat: Terrorists Set Citizen’s Shop on Fire

In a brazen late-night attack, militants belonging to the terrorist group Fitna al-Khawarij targeted the home of security personnel in Kotka Atlas Khan, Sarai Naurang, Laki Marwat, highlighting the persistent threat posed by extremist elements in the region.

According to police reports, twelve armed terrorists forcibly entered the residence, taking members of the household hostage. The attackers threatened the family at gunpoint and carried out a systematic robbery. They looted firearms, including an SMG and a Kalashnikov, along with cash totaling approximately PKR 400,000, before fleeing the scene. The SHO of local police station told that three brothers of the shop owner is in Army and one is in Police.

In addition to the robbery, the militants set fire to a shop adjacent to the house as they escaped, further endangering the property and surrounding area. Authorities confirmed that the household is directly linked to national security: four brothers are employed with security agencies, including three in the Pakistan Army and one in prison police, underscoring the deliberate targeting of personnel serving the state.

Local law enforcement immediately launched a search and cordon operation to track down the perpetrators. Investigations are ongoing, with police teams examining evidence and reviewing security camera footage to identify and apprehend the attackers.

District Police Laki Marwat have condemned the attack, emphasizing that such acts of terrorism will not intimidate security personnel or their families. They reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding citizens and ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice under the law.

This attack underscores the continuing threat of organized extremist groups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and highlights the need for heightened vigilance and intelligence-led operations to protect families of security personnel from targeted attacks.
