A terrorist attack targeting the Shah Tora Police Checkpost in Lakki Marwat was successfully foiled late last night due to the vigilance, professionalism, and swift response of police personnel deployed at the post. According to official sources, approximately fifteen militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij attempted to assault the checkpost under the cover of darkness, opening fire in an effort to breach the security position. The attack was detected in its early stages when alert police personnel identified suspicious movement and hostile activity through thermal imaging cameras installed at the post.
Upon confirming the threat, police personnel responded immediately and decisively, engaging the attackers with effective and sustained retaliatory fire using heavy weapons. The timely and courageous response forced the terrorists to abandon their attempt and flee the area, thwarting what could have resulted in serious loss of life and damage to infrastructure.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu Region, Sajjad Khan, commended the brave and duty-bound police personnel for successfully repelling the attack and forcing the terrorists to retreat. He praised their courage, operational readiness, and commitment to duty, stating that the Lakki Marwat Police remain fully prepared at all times to confront and neutralize any security threat.
District Police Officer (DPO) Lakki Marwat, Nazeer Khan, also lauded the police personnel for their professional competence, bravery, and timely response. He stated that the successful foiling of the attack is a clear demonstration of the police force’s vigilance and preparedness. He further emphasized that the Lakki Marwat Police are engaged with full resolve against elements seeking to disrupt peace and stability, and that no compromise will be made on the protection of the lives and property of citizens.
