Police successfully foiled a potential militant threat late last night after responding swiftly to suspicious movement near the Abbasa Khattak Police Post in Lakki Marwat, forcing suspected militants to flee the area and abandon their motorcycle.
According to police officials, personnel on duty detected unusual movement in the vicinity of the post and immediately challenged the suspects. When the individuals attempted to escape, police opened fire as a precautionary and defensive measure. The decisive and timely response disrupted the militants’ plans and compelled them to retreat under the cover of darkness.
During a subsequent sweep of the area, police recovered a motorcycle left behind by the fleeing suspects, which is believed to have been used for reconnaissance or movement. The abandoned vehicle has been taken into custody, and forensic and intelligence examinations are underway to trace its ownership and determine possible links to militant networks operating in the region.
