A delegation of the ‘Qaumi Paigham Aman Committee’, led by Maulana Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House in Peshawar, reaffirming the collective resolve of religious scholars to support peace and stability in the province.

The delegation included Mufti Abdul Rahim, Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, Pir Naqeeb ur Rehman, Allama Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Allama Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, Maulana Zubair Faheem, Dr Mufti Muhammad Karim Khan, Mufti Muhammad Yousaf Khan, Allama Dr Muhammad Asif Akbar Qadri, Maulana Muhammad Adil Attari, Maulana Muhammad Tauqeer Abbas, and Maulana Zahid Mansoor.

During the meeting, the scholars assured the governor of their full cooperation and active role in promoting peace and countering terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They stated that this was the committee’s first official visit to the province and emphasized that scholars from all schools of thought stand united with the state, the people, and the armed forces against all forms of terrorism, including what they described as Fitna al-Khawarij.

The delegation asserted that those involved in the killing of innocent civilians, police personnel, and members of the armed forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have no connection with Islam. They stressed that religious scholars across the country unequivocally support the elimination of terrorist elements and stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of the province and security forces.

Referring to the heavy toll paid by the province, the scholars noted that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have made immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and once again require unity and collective resolve to defeat extremist threats.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi welcomed the delegation and thanked them for choosing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their first visit. He said that terrorism would be completely eradicated through the combined strength of religious scholars, public support, and state institutions.

The governor described the role of the National Peace Message Committee as vital in countering extremism and restoring lasting peace, noting that religious scholars and leaders hold a position of deep respect and influence within society.

He also pointed to the increase in terrorist incidents originating from Afghan soil, stressing the need to eliminate regional, ethnic, sectarian, and hate-based divisions in the current environment. Emphasizing unity, the governor said that adherence to the principles of Paigham-e-Pakistan would prevent hostile forces from creating divisions within society.

He urged restraint, tolerance, and collective responsibility, calling for the protection of social values and national cohesion to effectively confront the challenges posed by extremism and terrorism.
