Police Constable Martyred in Terrorist Firing Incident in Bannu

A police constable was martyred when terrorists opened fire on him in the Sarangi area of Bannu district, officials confirmed. According to police, Constable Tariq was on his way to duty when unidentified assailants ambushed him, critically wounding him. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The fallen officer was serving at the RPO Bungalow where he had been performing official duties.

Police contingents immediately reached the site of the attack, cordoned off the area and collected forensic evidence. Following the incident, a large-scale search operation was launched to track down the perpetrators, with multiple teams sweeping adjoining localities.

Officials said the incident highlights the persistent threat posed by terrorist elements in the region, adding that efforts to eliminate such attacks are being intensified. Senior police officers expressed grief over the martyrdom of Constable Tariq and vowed that those responsible will be brought to justice.
