The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in coordination with Bannu Police, conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Mamkhel/Havid area of Bannu today, eliminating two highly wanted terrorists affiliated with the banned TTP, or the Fitna al-Khawarij as declared by the state.
According to security sources, actionable intelligence indicated the presence of extremists planning a major attack in the area. CTD SWAT teams, alongside Bannu Police, launched a targeted operation, which led to a brief but intense firefight. The operation concluded with both terrorists neutralised, while two other associates managed to escape under cover of darkness. A search operation for their apprehension is ongoing.
Details of the Neutralized Terrorists:
Fazl-ur-Rehman alias Faiz-ur-Rehman alias Hanzala: Wanted for attacks on constables Javed, Nasrullah, and Hayatullah, as well as involvement in an assault on Sheikh Landak police post.
Safir-ur-Rehman son of Wali Dad: Wanted in cases including the killing of Constable Zubair and attacks on police posts at Fatah Khel and Khairaki Mamkhel, where Constables Isar Khan and Ajmal Khan were injured.
Security forces recovered weapons and evidence from the terrorists, including:
One Kalashnikov with two magazines
One 9mm pistol with magazine
Two hand grenades
Two mobile phones
A card linked to the banned organisation
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Additional IG CTD praised the bravery, dedication, and high morale of CTD and Bannu Police personnel for the successful operation.
