Nine Killed, Two Abducted as Violence Flares Across Balochistan

At least nine people were killed and two others abducted in a series of shooting and kidnapping incidents reported from different districts of Balochistan, highlighting the deteriorating security situation in the province and the urgent need for stronger law enforcement measures.

According to a report, four people, including tribal leaders, were gunned down by unidentified assailants in the Khaliqabad area of Kalat district. The victims were identified as tribal elder Shakir Saadullah Langov, his brother Shakir Khairullah Langov, and two others  Mohammad Karim and Mohammad Zahir. Levies officials said the attackers fled the scene after opening fire, while authorities have launched an investigation into the killings.

In another incident, two men were shot dead in the Shepistan area of Panjgur district. Police said unidentified armed men on motorcycles opened fire on the victims, identified as Mohammad Zafar and Mohammad Naeem. Their bodies were shifted to the district hospital for post-mortem examination, while the motive behind the killings remains unknown.

Meanwhile, in Dera Murad Jamali, two excavator drivers working for a construction company were kidnapped near the Notal Police Station by unidentified gunmen. The abductees were identified as Ashiq Ali Mohammad Hasni and Shakeel Ahmed Korai. Sources said the incident occurred near the Rabi Canal Sufi Wah area, where the assailants left the machinery behind and took the drivers away. Police and security forces have launched a search operation for their recovery.

Separately, in Goth Misri Khan of Kachhi district, a man identified as Abdul Qadeer Kurd was killed when unidentified assailants opened fire on him. The attackers escaped after the incident, and the body was handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities.

In Jhal Magsi’s Hathiyari area, an exchange of fire erupted between members of the Solangi and Wazdani Magsi tribes over a land dispute, resulting in the death of one person, Mohammad Bachal Magsi. The local administration reached the spot and managed to bring the situation under control.

In yet another tragic incident, unidentified gunmen shot dead a prominent tribal leader, Sardar Hussain, near Dalbandin in Chagai district. His body was shifted to Prince Fahad Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police collected evidence from the crime scene and launched an investigation, though the motive behind the killing remains unclear.

Law enforcement officials noted that four people have been killed in separate firing incidents in Chagai district alone during the current month, heightening fear and insecurity among local residents. The recent surge in killings, tribal clashes, and abductions across Balochistan has once again drawn attention to the province’s fragile security situation and the pressing need for enhanced law enforcement and administrative measures to restore stability and public confidence.
