The repatriation of Afghan nationals from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has gained momentum following the dismantling of Afghan refugee camps, with authorities intensifying operations against undocumented residents across the province.
According to official data, a total of 67,601 Afghan nationals were repatriated during October alone, including 2,056 individuals sent back on October 19. The figures also reveal that 219 Proof of Registration (PoR) card holders were among those deported during the period.
Cumulative statistics show that since the beginning of the repatriation process, 1,413,906 Afghan citizens have returned to Afghanistan from Pakistan. These include 163,253 PoR card holders and 80,000 Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders, marking one of the largest organized returns in recent years.
Sources said the ongoing operation, conducted under federal directives, aims to ensure the phased and lawful return of both registered and unregistered Afghan residents. Law enforcement agencies have been directed to intensify action against those residing illegally, while facilitating the orderly departure of registered individuals in coordination with relevant authorities.
Officials reaffirmed that the repatriation drive would continue in a systematic manner to ensure compliance with national immigration laws and maintain internal security across the province.
