A fake and AI-generated video, being circulated by social media accounts linked to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), falsely claims that the Tehrek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has killed 25 Pakistani soldiers in an alleged attack in South Waziristan.
The fabricated video, which has been widely shared on X (formerly Twitter) and other online platforms, presents a false narrative suggesting that TTP fighters overran a Pakistani military post, killed 25 personnel, and destroyed an army drone during an assault last night. The video also claims that the post came under the control of TTP militants following the operation.
However, official sources have categorically rejected these claims, confirming that the news being circulated is fake and has no connection to reality. No such incident has occurred in South Waziristan, and there have been no reports of casualties or military engagement in the area.
Authorities said that the fake content appears to be part of a coordinated disinformation campaign aimed at spreading panic and undermining Pakistan’s security institutions. The AI-generated visuals and fabricated statements are being traced to online accounts associated with hostile propaganda networks.
Officials have urged citizens to avoid sharing unverified material on social media and to rely only on credible and official sources for information regarding security matters.
