In a major success, security forces conducted a well-coordinated intelligence-based operation in the Magal Kot sector of Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation, carried out based on actionable intelligence, resulted in the elimination of two terrorists associated with the banned TTP, also known as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”
The operation specifically targeted the notorious group led by Tariq Kachhi, a known facilitator of cross-border terrorism and extortion activities. The security forces successfully neutralized two key members of the group: Tariq Kachhi and Hakim Ullah aka Tiger, who had been involved in several terrorist attacks in the region over the last two years.
During the operation, security forces also seized a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, underscoring the threat posed by these terrorists. The seized arsenal was meant for use in future attacks across the region.
Cross-Border Terrorism Involvement
According to security sources, the slain terrorists had been facilitating the infiltration of terrorists from Afghanistan into Pakistan. Their role in assisting terrorists in crossing the border and carrying out attacks on Pakistani soil had been under investigation for some time.
Tariq Kachhi’s group had been operational for the past two years, participating in various criminal activities, including extortion and kidnapping for ransom. Their activities were closely linked to the broader terrorist network operating out of Afghanistan, fueling cross-border terrorism.
Security Forces’ Vigilance
Security officials have vowed to continue their operations against the terrorists until they are eradicated. Despite facing fierce resistance, the security forces have been relentless in their fight against these terrorist factions and remain committed to ensuring peace and stability in the region.
