As tensions with New Delhi escalate yet again, Pakistani military’s media wing has issued a stark warning: any aggressive move by India will be met with a devastating response, and this time Pakistan is prepared to strike far beyond the conventional zones of conflict. In a strongly worded statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) condemned recent provocative remarks from senior Indian security officials, accusing them of fabricating pretexts for expansionist designs. The ISPR said that decades of India’s encouragement of violence and cross-border operations have revealed its true role as a source of regional instability.
Observing that the May showdown nearly dragged two nuclear-armed neighbors into full-blown conflict, the ISPR claimed that India now suffers from “collective amnesia” as it ostentatiously signals readiness for renewed confrontation. The statement declared, “If any adventure is taken, a horrific response will be given,” and announced a recalibrated Pakistani doctrine that is “swift, decisive and devastating.”
A new dimension of threat was introduced when the ISPR warned it may target India’s remote areas — effectively discarding any earlier assumptions of geographic non-interference. The release also rejected Delhi’s rhetoric about erasing Pakistan from the map as perilously bilateral in nature.
The statement lambasted recent comments from Indian defence and military leaders as “highly provocative,” saying they risk dragging the region into catastrophic conflict if miscalculated escalation follows. It referenced Indian Air Chief Marshal Amarpraet Singh’s claim that five Pakistani jets were downed during May skirmishes, and quoted Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as asserting India’s ability to face any threat head-on.
Concluding its stern warning, the ISPR made clear that if a fresh chapter of war is opened, Pakistan will not lag behind. “We will respond without hesitation or restraint,” it said.
