Security Forces Eliminate 8 Khawarij Linked to India-Backed Proxy Network in Balochistan

Security forces eliminated 8 Khawarij belonging to the India-backed proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij in a series of intelligence-based operations across Balochistan, including Quetta and Sherani, officials said Wednesday.

The operations followed Tuesday’s deadly assault on a Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Quetta, in which a suicide bomber and gunmen attempted to storm the facility. At least three people embraced martyrdom in the attack before security forces repelled the assault, killing all of the attackers.

According to  sources, the attack began when an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into a corner of the FC compound. Moments later, five Khawarij operatives, disguised in FC uniforms, attempted to infiltrate the premises. Swift response by the security forces neutralized all the assailants before they could enter. Two FC personnel sustained injuries in the exchange of fire.

In follow-up operations, security forces acted on actionable intelligence in Quetta’s Ghaza Band area, killing eight Khawarij linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also identified as Fitna al-Khawarij. Large quantities of arms, ammunition, and explosives were recovered during the operation. Two security personnel were injured and shifted to hospital in stable condition.

Another operation was carried out in the Sherani area, where security forces targeted a hideout of the same group, eliminating an additional eight Khawarij.

Officials confirmed that those eliminated were directly involved in orchestrating and executing terrorist attacks, including the assault on the FC headquarters. The successful operations, they said, foiled further plots by the India-backed network to destabilize Balochistan and target security installations.

Law enforcement and rescue teams promptly responded to the Quetta attack, shifting the dead and injured to hospitals where emergency was declared. Footage from the site showed plumes of smoke and shattered windows across nearby buildings caused by the blast impact.

Authorities reaffirmed that security forces remain resolute in their mission to eradicate Khawarij and their external sponsors, vowing to continue intelligence-based operations until peace and stability are fully restored across the province.
