Surrendered Khawarij Fighter Exposes Gul Bahadur Group’s Heinous Abuses

A member of the Gul Bahadur group, Abdul Samad, who recently surrendered before security forces, has issued a confessional statement laying bare shocking practices of the Khawarij, including desecration of mosques, child abuse, and sacrilege of the Holy Quran.

Abdul Samad revealed that he spent nearly four and a half years in Afghanistan, where he was trained in the use of Kalashnikov rifles before moving to Manzar Hail. There, he came into contact with Gul Bahadur group commander Sadiq and stayed with him for three months.

He later travelled to Zangoti Kharsin, where he joined the faction led by commander Asad Mullah. According to Samad, Asad Mullah turned the Minarwali Mosque into a base for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), mines, and drone bombs, while labelling the Pakistan Army as “apostates.” He added that indecent videos and music were played inside the mosque during the making of explosives, and that Asad Mullah kept two boys with him for immoral acts.

“When I saw their actions, I realised they were worse than the infidels,” Samad confessed, adding that the Khawarij instructed recruits to use mines and bombs against the Army. He said the group routinely violated the sanctity of mosques, abused children, and desecrated the Holy Quran.

The surrendered fighter disclosed that mosques in Zangoti had been converted into Khawarij centres. Ten members were stationed in each of the Deen Akbar, Mirza Khan, and Loud Khail mosques, while Asad Mullah commanded around 15 men at the Minarwali Mosque. “All the village mosques were effectively under his control,” Samad said.

He also revealed that during a raid by security forces, Asad Mullah fled the scene after collecting the group members’ identity cards and mobile phones. The phones were formatted, but the CNICs were kept by the commander.

Comparing his time with the Khawarij and with the Army, Abdul Samad said: “I spent five years among the Taliban and only five days with the Pakistan Army, but I testify that the Army is right and the Taliban are wrong. The Taliban branded the Army as hypocrites, yet I found the truth to be the opposite. The Taliban themselves are hypocrites, dishonouring mosques, abusing children, and desecrating the Quran.”

In his message to the public, he urged parents to protect their children from the Khawarij and called on citizens to fully support the Pakistan Army in its efforts to restore peace.
