Israel carried out large-scale airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, targeting key sites near the presidential complex, according to Arab media reports. The strikes hit missile installations, an oil depot, and two power stations.
Houthi officials confirmed that two people were killed and five others wounded in the attacks. They also alleged that Israeli warplanes struck densely populated residential areas, calling it a war crime.
Israeli media reported that 15 fighter jets took part in the operation, launching 35 missiles at multiple locations across Yemen.
The Houthis clarified that the presidential headquarters is currently non-operational and no staff were present at the time of the strikes. Strongly condemning the attacks, the group vowed to intensify its retaliatory operations against Israel, warning of strikes on major targets deep inside Israeli territory.
The escalation marks a sharp intensification of hostilities as Israel expands its military operations beyond its immediate region.
