DC Bajaur Issues Advisory as Targeted Operation Against Khawarij Commences

The district administration of Bajaur has issued an urgent public advisory as targeted operations against Khawarij commence in several areas of the district. Residents of specific localities have been asked to temporarily relocate to ensure their safety during the actions.

According to the announcement, inhabitants of the following areas are advised to move to other locations for a short period: Shenkot, Garigal, Loi Tangay, Nakhtar, Lagharti, Gowai, Ghanam Shah, Bad Siah, Kamar, Amanta, Zagai, Gat, Zari, Agra, Ghunday, Kalan, Kharchi, Niyag Kali, Tarkho Erab, Rangi, Dag, Damadola, Sultan Beg, Chotra, Shenkot, Gang, Jiwar, Inaam, Khoro, Chingi, Anga, Safri, Bar Gangi, Kharki, Shakro, and Bakro.

The administration stated that Section 144 restrictions will be temporarily relaxed to facilitate the relocation of the remaining population, with timings to be announced shortly.

With the approval of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department, Section 144 will be imposed from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on August 11, 2025, on Khar-Munda Road, Khar-Nawagai Road, Khar-Pasht Salarzai Road, and Khar-Sadiqabad Inayat Kali Road.

Additionally, for public safety during the operations, a complete ban under Section 144 will be enforced in certain areas for three days—from 11:00 AM on August 11, 2025, until 11:00 AM on August 14, 2025—prohibiting road movement and leaving homes. The affected areas include Laghari, Gowai, Ghanam Shah, Bad Siah, Kamar, Amanta, Zagai, Gat, Ghunday, Garigal, Niyag Kali, Rangi, Dag, Damadola, Sultan Beg, Chotra, Shenkot, Gang, Jiwar, Inaam Khurd, Chingi, Anga, Safri, Bar Gangi, Kharki, Shakro, and Bakro.

The administration has urged the public to complete all activities by 10:30 AM on August 11, 2025, and remain indoors during the restriction period. Violators have been warned that they will bear full responsibility for any unpleasant incident resulting from non-compliance.
