KP Faces Terror Threat, But No New Operation Planned

The security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), particularly in areas like Bajaur, remains a serious concern due to ongoing threats from terrorist elements. However, the government has clarified that no new military operation is currently underway in the region.

According to the Ministry of Interior, while there is no fresh operation being launched, the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) remains a top priority. Security forces continue to perform active counter-terrorism duties, especially in vulnerable regions across KP and Balochistan.

Officials stated that the armed forces are engaged in efforts to contain and eliminate extremist threats, with a focus on intelligence-based operations and regional stability. The situation is being closely monitored, and any future actions will be aligned with national security protocols and ground realities.

In recent weeks, incidents in areas like Bajaur have raised concerns among local communities, but authorities emphasise that coordinated efforts between security agencies and local administrations are ongoing to maintain peace and prevent militant resurgence.

While challenges remain, especially in hard-to-reach tribal regions, the government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the writ of the state is upheld and terrorism is dealt with decisively.
