Khariji Fighter Surrenders to Security Forces in Tank After Sustaining Injuries

In a significant development in the ongoing campaign against anti-state elements, a young Khawarij operative surrendered to security forces in Tank after being critically wounded during a recent engagement under Operation Yalghaar-11. The surrender came as a result of intense pressure and timely action by the security forces, which compelled the injured militant, identified as Hanzala son of Muhammad Yaqoob, to lay down arms. The 18-year-old resident of Dabak Post Office, Umar Adda, Tehsil and District Tank, had been an active member of the Khawarij’s armed wing and was reportedly involved in recent hostile activities against the state.

According to credible security sources, Hanzala was injured in a fierce exchange of fire during a targeted operation in the area. Surrounded and unable to continue resisting due to his injuries, he was forced to surrender before the advancing security personnel.

Officials described the surrender as a significant success in the broader counter-Khawarij campaign. “This development underscores the mounting pressure on the Khawarij network, whose operatives are increasingly cornered and demoralised. It also reflects the growing trust of the local population in the state’s efforts to restore peace,” a security official said.

The ongoing operations by security forces across the region have not only weakened the operational structure of the Khawarij but have also contributed to a visible restoration of public confidence and community resilience. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the operations until the last vestiges of the Khawarij menace are eliminated from the region.
