In a decisive intelligence-based operation, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces jointly engaged and neutralised a Khariji in the Parmuli area of Swabi’s Circle Razar, following a fierce exchange of fire that also left a police officer injured.
The search and strike mission was launched in response to credible intelligence regarding the presence of armed Khawarij elements entrenched within the vicinity. As the joint teams advanced, they came under sudden and heavy fire from militants attempting to resist arrest. Security personnel swiftly returned fire, effectively neutralising one Khawarij combatant on the spot. One police constable sustained injuries during the confrontation and was immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility, where his condition is reported to be stable.
In the aftermath of the exchange, District Police Officer (DPO) Swabi assumed direct command of the follow-up operation, deploying additional contingents to seal off the area and initiate a comprehensive clearance and search sweep. The operation remains active as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to apprehend any remaining facilitators or fugitives in the region.
Today’s engagement marks another step forward in the state’s ongoing counterinsurgency campaign, reaffirming the resolve of Pakistan’s security apparatus to safeguard peace and dismantle extremist networks operating under the banner of Khawarij ideology.
