Militant Network Busted: Most Arrested Are Afghans, Pakistan Confronts Kabul

In a significant counterterrorism breakthrough, Pakistani security forces have dismantled an entire militant network operating within the country. Out of the 30 militants apprehended during the operation, 26 were confirmed to be Afghan nationals, raising serious concerns about cross-border militancy and safe havens in Afghanistan.

According to official sources, the network was involved in a series of recent attacks and subversive activities targeting civilians and security forces. Several other members of the group were neutralized during targeted raids.

The government of Pakistan has formally conveyed its concerns to the Afghan Taliban administration, presenting what sources describe as “comprehensive and irrefutable evidence” of Afghan soil being used as a base for attacks against Pakistan. The Afghan government, caught off-guard, is reportedly in a state of confusion as it scrambles to respond to the detailed dossiers.

“The world is already aware of the presence of terrorist safe havens in Afghanistan. It is now up to the Afghan Taliban government to decide whether it stands with regional peace or continues to provide cover to these elements,” a senior Pakistani security official stated.

This development not only underscores the seriousness of the threat emanating from across the border but also reinforces Pakistan’s longstanding demand for actionable cooperation from Kabul. Pakistan, which has borne the brunt of terrorism for decades, reiterated its commitment to uprooting terrorism in all its forms and securing its borders against hostile actors.
