In a major counterterrorism breakthrough, Pakistani security forces eliminated 17 terrorists and apprehended 42 others during a series of intelligence-based operations conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan from July 1 to July 15, 2025, according to a comprehensive security report. The most extensive operations were carried out in Balochistan’s Pishin district, where four high-impact raids led to the killing of five terrorists and the arrest of eight. In Zhob, two targeted operations neutralized three militants and resulted in the arrest of five others.
Security forces also intensified pressure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s militancy-hit southern belt. In South Waziristan, three coordinated operations left three terrorists dead and six captured. An equal number of operations in North Waziristan led to the elimination of two terrorists and the arrest of seven others.
In Dera Ismail Khan and Kohat, security forces conducted two operations in each district. One terrorist was killed and four were arrested in Dera Ismail Khan, while in Kohat, two terrorists were gunned down and three apprehended. One operation each was launched in Bannu and Tank, resulting in the killing of one terrorist and the arrest of three in each district.
During these operations, several terrorist hideouts were destroyed and large caches of arms and explosives were seized. Recovered weaponry included automatic firearms, rocket launchers, mortars, hand grenades, landmines, and other sophisticated munitions—foiling multiple potential attacks.
Security officials said the operations reflect an unwavering resolve to uproot terrorism and dismantle its infrastructure, adding that counterterrorism efforts will continue with full force until peace is fully restored across the country.
