A significant intelligence-based joint operation in Mahr Deh, Tehsil Dargai, District Malakand, led by the Pakistan Army along with the Special Operations Command (SOC), Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and Malakand Levies, successfully dismantled a Khawarij hideout, recovering a substantial cache of weapons and explosives.
During the operation, one Khariji member was neutralized while another identified as Syed Habib, son of Syed Mehran, reportedly of Afghan origin was injured and apprehended. The arrested individual is believed to be linked with cross-border networks and is currently under investigation.
Security forces recovered a significant quantity of arms, ammunition, communication gear, IED components, and flags and insignia of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban, indicating that the Khawarij cell was preparing for a major terrorist operation in the region. The discovery of local and foreign currency, along with tactical gear, underscores the scale of the group’s logistics and external facilitation.
Officials said the operation was based on actionable intelligence and reflects the high level of coordination among law enforcement and military agencies. Clearance and monitoring operations are still ongoing in the vicinity to eliminate any remaining threats.
Security officials reaffirmed the unwavering resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces to eradicate the Khawarij and prevent any attempt to destabilize the region. The successful operation in Malakand marks another step forward in Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism.
