In a sharp escalation of Khawarij activity, Khawarij carried out their fifth drone attack in a month on the Miryan Police Station in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The drone dropped an explosive device into the station’s courtyard late Thursday night. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage were reported.
According to police officials, the Khawarij used advanced drone technology to target the police station and nearby security posts. “The drone dropped a bomb inside the compound, but all police personnel remained safe,” said a police spokesperson. “Our forces opened fire in response, but due to the high altitude, the drone could not be brought down.”
The repeated attacks on Miryan Police Station underscore the Khawarij’ increasing reliance on modern warfare tactics to challenge state security. Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation to trace the source and operators of the drone.
Security has been reinforced across Bannu district, as authorities express concern over the militants’ evolving capabilities and the persistent threat to police installations.
