In yet another grim reminder of the persistent terror threat in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Frontier Corps (FC) soldier Muhammad Sher was abducted and martyred by terrorists in Lakki Marwat while on leave. The slain soldier hailed from Spina Shaga village in the Pewar-Tangi area of Kurram district.
His funeral was held with full military honours in his native village, attended by Wing Commander Lt Col Yasir Jamal, military officials, district administration, tribal elders, and a large number of mourners. Prayers were offered at his gravesite for his eternal peace and the elevation of his ranks in the hereafter.
Muhammad Sher’s martyrdom is not an isolated tragedy but part of a disturbing daily routine in southern KP, where security personnel and civilians alike are falling victim to a persistent wave of terror. The brazen targeting of an off-duty soldier underscores the boldness of these groups and the urgency for a full-fledged and uncompromising operation to eradicate the menace once and for all.
The people of Kurram paid glowing tribute to the martyr’s sacrifice, but their grief is laced with growing frustration, demanding a swift and combing operation against the terrorists in the region.
