In a decisive blow to anti-state networks, security forces eliminated a Khawarij militant during a high-stakes search and strike operation in Sheri Khel village, within the jurisdiction of Shahbaz Khel Police Station. The operation, launched as part of a preemptive security strategy ahead of Muharram, also resulted in the recovery of a Kalashnikov rifle and live ammunition.
As law enforcement advanced through the suspected hideout, Khawarij operatives opened indiscriminate fire in an attempt to escape. The ensuing exchange was swift and intense. One Khawarij was neutralized on the spot, while his accomplices fled under the cover of fire. Authorities recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the scene. Forensic efforts are underway to identify the slain militant.
Security officials confirmed that an extensive clearance operation is ongoing in and around Sheri Khel to locate remaining Khawarij fugitives. “This operation is part of a zero-tolerance campaign against those who challenge the writ of the state,” said an official involved in the mission. “We will not allow these ideological mercenaries to disrupt peace during Muharram or beyond.”
