Four Martyred as Khawarij Fire Hits Civilian Vehicle in South Waziristan

In a tragic incident in South Waziristan’s Barmal tehsil, two women and two children were martyred while four others sustained critical injuries when a civilian vehicle came under fire during a clash between security forces and Khawarij in the remote Khumrang area. The intense gunfight erupted during a targeted security operation aimed at eliminating the Khawarij from their hideouts in the mountainous region. Amid the exchange, a passenger vehicle passing through the area was hit by indiscriminate fire, reportedly by Khawarij elements.

The attack resulted in the martyrdom of four civilians two women and two children on the spot, while four other passengers were seriously wounded. The injured were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for emergency medical care.

Security forces swiftly sealed off the area and launched a sweeping clearance operation to track down and neutralize the remaining Khawarij militants responsible for the heinous act.

The local community expressed deep grief and outrage over the brutal targeting of non-combatants, particularly women and children, calling the act an unforgivable atrocity. Officials condemned the attack, vowing that operations against the Khawarij would continue relentlessly until the complete restoration of peace in the tribal belt.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to uprooting the Khawarij menace and ensuring the safety and security of civilians in all affected regions.
