Trump Announces Ceasefire Agreement Between Israel and Iran, Declares “Time for Peace Has Arrived”

U.S. President Donald Trump announced via his social media platform, Truth Social, that Israel and Iran have agreed to a complete ceasefire, marking the end of a 12-day conflict that had threatened to engulf the Middle East in wider warfare. In a series of posts, Trump wrote, “Congratulations to all  a full ceasefire has been agreed upon between Israel and Iran.” He confirmed that hostilities between the two nations would officially cease six hours from the announcement, following the completion of their final ongoing missions.

According to Trump, the ceasefire implementation would unfold in phases. Iran is set to initiate the formal cessation of hostilities, followed by Israel at the 12-hour mark. By the 24th hour, the end of the “12-Day War” will be officially recognized worldwide. During the ceasefire, both sides are expected to maintain “a peaceful and dignified posture,” Trump stated.

“If everything goes as planned  and it will I want to congratulate both Israel and Iran on their courage, resilience, and wisdom in ending a war that could have dragged on for years,” Trump declared. “This 12-day war could have devastated the entire Middle East  but it didn’t, and it won’t.”

He concluded the post with a prayer: “May God have mercy on Israel and Iran. May God have mercy on the Middle East, on America, and on the entire world.”

In an earlier post, Trump noted that Iran’s response to a U.S. strike on its nuclear facilities was “very weak and effectively countered.” He reported that Iran had fired a total of 14 missiles, 13 of which were intercepted, while the remaining one posed no significant threat.

“I’m pleased to report that no Americans were injured, and damage was minimal,” he wrote. “Most importantly, Iran has vented its anger, and hopefully, no further hatred will follow.”

In another post, Trump revealed that Iran had provided advance warning of its retaliatory strike. “I want to thank Iran for giving us prior notice of the attack, which helped prevent any loss of life,” he said.

He further expressed hope for regional reconciliation. “I encourage Tehran to move towards peace and harmony in the region, and I enthusiastically urge Israel to do the same.”

In a follow-up post, Trump also thanked the Amir of Qatar for “all efforts made in the interest of regional peace.”

He closed his announcement with a global message: “Congratulations to the world the time for peace has arrived.”
