Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), marked Eid-ul-Azha by visiting forward positions along the Line of Control (LOC), where he celebrated the festival with troops deployed on the frontline.
The visit began with Eid prayers, during which special supplications were offered for Pakistan’s lasting peace, stability, and prosperity, along with heartfelt prayers for the martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the nation.
Extending warm Eid greetings to the officers and soldiers, the Army Chief praised their unwavering dedication, professional excellence, and resolute service amid constant challenges. He remarked that celebrating Eid on the frontline, away from loved ones, is a powerful testament to their year-round commitment to safeguarding the motherland.
Field Marshal Munir also lauded the formation’s outstanding performance during Marqa-e-Haq and Operation Bunyaanum Marsoos, paying solemn tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis whose sacrifices continue to strengthen the country’s security and national resolve. “You have delivered a fitting response to avenge the innocent lives of Pakistani civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, lost to enemy aggression,” the COAS said.
During his interaction with the troops, the Army Chief expressed deep appreciation for their exceptional morale, operational readiness, and vigilant responses to Indian ceasefire violations. He reaffirmed his full confidence in the Armed Forces’ preparedness to deter and defeat any act of aggression decisively.
Underscoring Pakistan’s principled position, Field Marshal Munir reiterated that the just and courageous struggle of the Kashmiri people against Indian occupation will never be forgotten. He emphasized that resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute by the aspirations of its people and relevant UN Security Council resolutions remains imperative. Upon arrival at the LOC, the COAS was received by the Commander of Rawalpindi Corps.
