The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), declared by the state as Fitna-e-Hindustan, widely recognised as a terrorist organisation operating with Indian support, has adopted a disturbing new tactic, recruiting educated Baloch women as suicide bombers. Once known for targeting security forces, the group is now exposed for exploiting women in acts of terrorism, revealing a dangerous evolution in its operations.
Security experts now view the BLA not merely as a terrorist outfit but as a strategic tool in a broader Indian-backed conspiracy aimed at destabilizing Pakistan from within. The underlying objective: to fracture the social, religious, and moral fabric of the Baloch community.
Documented Cases of Female Suicide Bombers
Recent reports have raised alarm bells within both security institutions and society at large, detailing specific cases in which Baloch women were coerced or manipulated into carrying out suicide attacks:
Shari Baloch: A highly educated individual with a Master’s in Education from Turbat University and a government school teacher by profession. On April 26, 2022, she carried out a suicide bombing targeting Chinese instructors at the University of Karachi.
Samiya Qalandrani Baloch: A college student with a keen interest in journalism. She was reportedly blackmailed using an explicit video and was driven to execute a suicide bombing against a security convoy in Turbat on June 24, 2023.
Mehal Baloch: A law student at Turbat University who conducted a car bomb attack on a security camp in Bela in August 2024.
Adeela Baloch: An employee of the World Health Organisation (WHO), arrested in February 2023 while planning a suicide attack. During interrogation, she confessed that the BLA receives direct financial and training support from India. She also revealed harrowing accounts of sexual abuse and threats to family members used to coerce women into becoming suicide attackers.
Violation of Religious and Tribal Values
Clerics and tribal elders have unanimously condemned this trend as a blatant violation of Islamic teachings and Baloch tribal traditions. Islam strictly forbids suicide:
“Do not kill yourselves. Surely, Allah is most Merciful to you.”
(Surah An-Nisa: 29)
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned:
“Whoever commits suicide will be punished with the means by which he killed himself in Hellfire.”
(Bukhari & Muslim)
Defence analysts argue that using women in such a heinous manner is not only a moral and humanitarian offence but also a deep insult to Baloch traditions, where women are regarded with the utmost respect and dignity.
India’s Malicious Involvement
Investigations and intelligence reports confirm that BLA operations are heavily funded and ideologically influenced by India. Experts assert that Indian intelligence agency RAW is using BLA as a proxy force to escalate unrest in Balochistan by converting its women into tools of terror.
A Call for National Unity
Community leaders, religious scholars, tribal chiefs, and civil society activists are calling for urgent national cohesion to confront what they term as “Fitna-e-Hindustan”—the Indian-backed chaos.
This is no longer solely a matter of national security, it is now a battle for honour, faith, and generational survival. Elders warn that if immediate resistance is not mounted, Baloch daughters could be stripped of education, employment, and peace, reduced instead to fodder for terrorism.
The BLA’s use of women in suicide attacks is more than an act of violence, it is an assault on the conscience of a nation.
The alarming trend of weaponizing educated Baloch women is a wake-up call for Pakistan. It demands an urgent, unified response, not only from the state but from all segments of society, particularly the Baloch community. Now is the time to reject foreign agendas and protect the honour, future, and faith of Pakistan’s daughters.
