Security forces have eliminated 13 terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in an intelligence-based operation in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, destroying a suspected TTP hideout.

According to security sources, the operation was launched on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of TTP terrorists at a hideout in the area. Acting on the intelligence, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation and effectively targeted the terrorist hideout.

As a result of the operation, 13 TTP terrorists were eliminated, while the hideout used by the terrorists was completely destroyed.

The successful operation is being described as a significant blow to the terrorist network operating in North Waziristan, particularly as the area has historically served as a key operating zone for TTP networks seeking to maintain clandestine infrastructure and launch attacks.

The operation was part of ongoing intelligence-led efforts to identify and dismantle terrorist hideouts, command structures and support networks in the tribal district. Security forces have continued such operations to prevent terrorists from regrouping and to disrupt their ability to plan and execute attacks.

The latest action also comes amid sustained counterterrorism operations across North Waziristan, where security forces have intensified intelligence-based actions against TTP networks and their facilitators.

Following the operation, a sanitization operation was launched in the surrounding area to ensure that no other terrorists or explosive material remained in the vicinity.

Security forces have reiterated their resolve to pursue terrorists and dismantle their networks wherever they attempt to establish a foothold. Intelligence-based operations are expected to continue in the area to prevent surviving members of terrorist networks from reorganizing or shifting their activities to other locations.
