A fresh wave of terror struck Balochistan on Sunday and Monday, as police and security forces came under attack in multiple coordinated incidents across the province.
According to reliable sources, terrorists from the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and the Fitna al-Khawarij, attacked a police mobile unit with a hand grenade in the Osta Muhammad area. The blast reportedly injured four police personnel. Their conditions are currently being assessed.
Earlier in the day, terrorists opened fire on a patrol party from the 88 Brigade, under command of the 57 Punjab Regiment, in the KGN sector. One soldier, Havaldar Shakeel, sustained injuries in the assault. Authorities have confirmed that his condition is stable and out of danger.
In another disturbing development, BLA militants launched an attack late last night on a plant in the city of Surab. The attackers torched all machinery present at the site before fleeing to an undisclosed location.
Security forces have launched search operations in the affected areas. Law enforcement agencies say the attacks bear the signature of BLA and other extremist factions, including Khawarij elements, who continue to target both civilian infrastructure and security forces in the region.
Investigations are ongoing, and authorities vow to respond with full force to neutralise the threat.
