The United States has announced a new round of sanctions aimed at preventing nuclear proliferation and countering terrorism, targeting individuals and entities linked to Iran, Russia and Mexico.

According to international reports, the latest sanctions include Behrouz Namazi, who is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as well as a company associated with him.

The announcement comes as part of Washington’s broader sanctions regime against Iran. The United States has already imposed sanctions on 50 individuals, entities and vessels connected to Iran’s shipping sector.

In a separate move, digital assets worth more than $130 million linked to Iran’s central bank have also been frozen under US sanctions measures.
